Dr. E.J. Chesnutis grew up in Portland, Oregon. He was active in numerous competitive sports activities throughout his childhood and his passion for athletics was a major driving factor in choosing his career path. In 2010 he earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Oregon State University. He went on to earn his doctorate degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 2014.
In the spring of 2017, Dr. Chesnutis completed a three-year foot and ankle medicine and surgery residency where he served as chief resident at the Highlands-Presbyterian/St. Luke’s program in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Chesnutis received advanced training ranging from sports injuries to diabetic limb salvage with a special emphasis on major reconstructive and traumatic rearfoot and ankle surgery. In three years at this program, he accumulated a surgical case log volume amongst the highest in the nation for foot and ankle surgery.
Following completion of his residency training, Dr. Chesnutis joined his father’s practice. He is dual board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in foot surgery as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Dr Chesnutis currently has active staff privileges at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland, and Swedish Medical Center in downtown Seattle. He is also an attending physician with the Swedish Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program.
